After a day trip to Fort Fisher, we took the Fort Fisher Ferry back to Southport to get home in Leland. It was a beautiful day for it too. The ride was great, we got to see some dolphins on the way too. Definitely worth it!!
This is an absolute must! We had a great time and even in the rough Cape fear the ferry was smooth as can be. The guys working on the ship will not the most friendly but that's because they are so busy with the most crucial and critical job. They don't have time to chitchat because they have our lives to worry about when we're on that ferry. I felt secure and safe the whole trip there and back. I would highly recommend everybody take the $7 ferry trip one way and then back the other way just to say you did it. But enjoy the towns on both sides.
It was a nice trip to spend the day in Southport, $7 per vehicle. Be sure to go to Provision Company, good food and the view is excellent, you can also visit the Oak Island lighthouse. worth the visit
Crew is great and the ferry is very affordable. Crossings are timely and you can ride as a passenger for just a buck if you want the most cost effective boat ride of your life! There is an indoor passenger lounge w comfortable seating and good views of the water.
We always take this ferry to Southport. It’s a tradition for us when we visit the coast. The views are beautiful. It’s a great way to enjoy some time on the water with your family and it’s only a few bucks to ride. It’s a super convenient, unique way to travel. Highly recommended!
This is a great and fun way to get to Ft Fisher State Park without having to cross the beach towns. $7 dlls per passanher car.
I love going on the ferry. It's been years since I've been on one. The employees were so nice and professional and the ride and views were amazing
This was a really cool experience. I've lived in NC and travelled to the coast for my entire life, 40 years, and never taken the ferry. I took my kids and it was a blast. Not much interaction with the staff, but what little we had was great. Definitely take the kids and bring something to feed the birds!
